Paid Leave is on Employers’ Agenda, Too, Mr. President

Washington, D.C. (January 31, 2018) – Lisa Horn, Executive Director of Employers for Flexibility (E4F), provided the following statement after President Trump’s call for new policies that improve paid leave options for American workers:

“During his State of the Union address, the President discussed a proposal to provide  employees with paid parental leave – consistent with promises he made while campaigning for office. Beyond this issue, however, employers are focused on providing employees a generous level of guaranteed paid leave they can use as they wish. That is a major reason why we have come together to support the Workflex in the 21st Century Act.

“As introduced by Rep. Mimi Walters (R-CA) and supported by the Progressive Policy Institute and Republican Main Street Partnership, this bill will guarantee paid leave for all employees at participating employers that exceeds all state mandates – and it will also provide workplace flexibility options like flexible scheduling or telecommuting to millions of employees for the first time. We urge members of Congress to join the effort to pass this breakthrough legislation this year.”
